Students begin their course studies by becoming proficient in the tools used in vehicle fabrication.
Extensive hands-on experience is used to teach all of the metal shaping techniques needed to build race vehicles. • Grinding, Cutting, Drilling |
Chassis Design |

Next, students begin studying the art and science of chassis design.
Students are offered the opportunity to work on actual race vehicle projects, study the process of addressing customer vehicles, or working directly on projects of their own choosing. • Roll Cage Triangulation• Gusseting and Dimple Die Reinforcement • Suspension Geometry Design |

As students' projects progress, additional race vehicle construction procedures and techniques are incorporated into the curriculum.
Students learn how to form aluminum into body panels and air ducting. Fiberglass body work mounting is taught. Vehicle wiring and plumbing are introduced. The principles of engine management, repair, and maintenance begin to make their way into course studies. |

As the curriculum nears completion, students begin coursework in race vehicle preparation.
This highly sought after skill is presented in great detail, ensuring students leave Baker Motorsports with a firm grasp of what is needed to prepare a winning off-road race vehicle. • Suspension Tuning• Transmission and Driveline Preparation • Engine and Associated Fluid Maintenance |

Finally, all students are given the opportunity to gain real-world race experience.
When they are ready, students are offered a place on the Baker Motorsports Pit Support Team, gaining hands on experience in high-pressure racing situations: changing tires, filling tanks, and repairing crucial components during professional desert races. |

Jon Nelson is a graduate of the Baker Motorsports course of study. He has gone on to Baldwin Motorsports where he works directly with BJ, prepping and navigating their 2008 Baja 500 overall winning Trophy Truck. |

Every student has the ability to work on their OWN projects, each students' experience tailored to their preferred focus. Class cost starts at $6000 for six months of study.
